Laura Loves Lära

One of my favorite snacks has two ingredients. That's it - TWO. Cashews + Dates. It's Lära Bar's Cashew Cookie Bar.

My love for Lära began just a few weeks ago when I started Whole30. One of the rules to Whole30 is to not find replacements for your go-to snacks and candy bars. I made an exception. With just 2 - 9 ingredients, I think LäraBars are acceptable. They have bars that are (ready for some buzz words?) non-GMO, Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Soy Free, and Vegan. They have bars with fruits, greens, nuts, seeds, and superfoods like kale, hemp seeds, cacao, and tumeric. Let's take a quick time out to give a shout out to turmeric. This superfood, or rather superspice, can help with: inflammation, bloating, high cholestoral, and arthritis. It has also been found to help with heartburn, joint pain, stomach pain, Crohn's disease, liver and gallbladder problems, H. pylori (a bacteria in the digestive tract), IBS, fatigue, headaches, depression, diabetes... need I go on? Work this spice into your diet whether it's through curry dishes or a pill from GNC.

Before Lära, my go-to "nutrition bar" was Kind. Let's compare:

Please note:

1) Price per bar is based on Target prices. A box of 5 Lära Bars at Target costs $4.99. A box of 4 Kind Bars costs the same.

2) The buzzwords and ingredients listed are based on the flavors I eat from each brand. Both may have a bar that suits your taste buds and diet.

Ok, that's it for my unpaid plug for Lära Bar. I simply wanted to share a treat that I enjoy so that the next time you go to the store, instead of grabbing a Reese's (one of my lifelong faves) you can grab a delicious and nutritious Lära Bar.

Have a different opinion or different go-to bar? Shoot me an email from my contact section and let me know! I'd love to explore more options.
